SLC Board Resolves in opposition of HSA Bill
The County Board today, March 16, 09, passed a resolution opposing the Human Service Authority Act which was introduced March 12, 2009 by Senators Rest and Gerlach, and in the House by Representatives Solberg; Holberg; Hausman; Greiling; Dean; Huntley; Magnus and Seifert.
Human Service Authority Act
"Human Service Authority Act"; authorizing a county or a consortium of counties to form a human service authority, limitations, establishing aid to counties; specifying certain duties and eligibility requirements; providing for membership, organization and administration; requiring the commissioner of human services to provide certification for eligible multicounty or single county human service authorities; specifying certain county duties; providing for
agreements and prescribing the procedure for certain assignments by the commissioner; specifying certain duties of the commissioner relating to county aid payments and transfer of payments for qualifying counties; requiring the
commissioner to convene a workgroup to develop and recommend certain legislation, specifying certain workgroup membership requirements
